On my fur baby Twinkle’s birth month, I decided to take her for a swim. She is now 8 years old yet she has never experienced being in a swimming pool. We all know here in the Philippines, there is a lack of dog friendly places to bond with our dogs. But now, things are changing, finally, there is a dog swimming pool here! Yay!!
“Doggieland Pet Hotel Swimming Resort” is located in Pasig, near Marikina. They have different time slots to choose from, then whatever time you choose, the entire pool is reserved for you. I chose the afternoon slot, allowing Twinkle three hours of pool bonding time and fun.
The pool is clean but not big by human standards. The size is good enough for dogs to have a few laps, especially small dogs. They also provided a pet sized life vest. Since it was Twinkle’s first dip, I opted to put the lifejacket on her so she would not get too scared.
I think I was more excited than Twinkle for her swim haha.
Twinkle is all set
During her first try, I saw the shock in her eyes, then later on she quickly started to relax. Dogs have the instinct of swimming instantly once they are in the water. I am so proud of her.
There is a toilet with shower next to the swimming pool. However, since I saw a big cockroach inside, I decided not to use it. I rinsed Twinkle outside and we got changed when we went home since they do not provide another bathroom other than the basic outdoor one.
There is a crew from the venue who is always there to help take pictures and assist with whatever concerns you might have. However, there is still room for improvement for it took her a while to bring out the extension cord to blow dry Twinkle.
Overall, we had a good experience, things could be a little bit better, but taking into consideration they are quite new, I believe they will improve further through time.
I find the place interesting enough to recommend to other people.
Twinkle’s first try was a success, she swam a few rounds and I feel like a proud mama .
